About Us

We met when we were in high school while on a mission trip. We dated all through high school and in 2005 we were married. We were very young when we got married but we knew exactly what we were doing and even though marriages are a working process and a learning experience we have loved every minute of it! We have now been married for five years, just bought our first home, and are in the place where we would like to start a family.

We have always known that we would need help having a baby. Mandy knew from a very young age that she could not carry a child. A year and a half ago we looked into using a gestational carrier, but after some failed fertility treatments, tears, and prayers, we decided to make adoption our way of having a family. It wasn't a hard decision; both of us have siblings who were adopted.

Amanda (Mandy)

I am 24 years old. I grew up on a farm in western Kansas. I was raised in a loving Christian family. I am the oldest of six siblings, three of whom are adopted. I also have an uncle with whom I am very close who is adopted as well. I have very good relationships with my family and they are all supportive and cannot wait for the new addition! I love to laugh and I would describe myself as someone who is outgoing and a good listener and has a good sense of humor. Some things I like to do are reading, traveling, antiquing and refinishing furniture. I completed my nurse assistant course in 2008 and have since been working at a hospital, but my true dream is to be a stay at home mom!

Ben

I am 25 years old. I was born and raised in Kansas. I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor’s degree in radiology in 2008 and I currently work at a hospital as an x-ray tech. I have one older sister who was adopted and two nephews and one niece. Whether it is our niece, nephews or Mandy's siblings, we enjoy being around and playing with kids, and our child will have lots of young family members to play with. My hobbies are playing drums at church and watching movies and KU basketball.

Our Home

We just bought our first home where we live with our sweet kitty, Nina. Our house has three bedrooms and we are already excited to make one into a nursery! Our neighborhood is very nice and quiet. We have a park close by and a hospital practically in our backyard!

Our Activities

We look forward to sharing our hobbies and activities with our children. We love going for walks, visiting zoos and museums, and having movie and game nights (both sides of our families love to get together and play games). We love photography and can't wait to take pictures of our children on family vacations (we try to take a trip every year).

Our Faith and Beliefs

We were both raised in strong Christian families and our faith is central to who we are and how we live our lives. Our faith and family is first in our lives.

We view adoption as a very special and unique relationship between two families. We believe it’s important for our children to know where they came from and the loving decision you made for them. We are willing to be as open as you feel comfortable with.
