Ben and Chanda

Hello, we're Ben and Chanda. We'd like to briefly introduce ourselves so you can learn more about us and our desire to become a family through adoption. We would love for you to see our scrapbook to discover more of the life we share.

About Us

Ben is 43 and is a medical equipment repair technician. He grew up in a close family of five siblings in northeast Kansas. He has a brother and sister-in-law who have shared your experiences when they chose to place their first child for adoption. Chanda is 37, is a hospital pharmacist, and grew up in Oklahoma. She has family in Oklahoma and Kansas who we visit and visit us often. Both of our families are very enthusiastic and supportive of our desire to adopt. We met in 1993 at the hospital where we both still work today and have been happily married since 1998. We share interests in many activities, including traveling, hiking, gardening, cooking, and sports, as well as working on many projects in our yard and on our new home.

Down our life's path, our love for each other has grown stronger, as well as our desire to start a family. When we learned of our infertility and decided not to pursue treatment, adopting a child seemed the natural thing to do. Being given the opportunity to include a child in our lives would strengthen all things between us, as well as expand our lives immeasurably.

Our Pets

We have three cats who are very important members of our family. Fergon, a tortoise shell, was rescued from an oil well storage shed in Oklahoma and makes us laugh all the time! Roscoe, a Siamese, is very energetic and a lot of fun. Zoey, a snowshoe, came from an animal shelter, and is the sweetest of them all. She follows Chanda everywhere. Roscoe and Zoey are best friends - playing and sleeping together all the time. Fergon, the oldest, likes to do her own thing.
Where We Live

For two years, we dedicated ourselves to building our dream - a log home, which we finished in 2004. We built it in a quiet, rural northeast Kansas neighborhood, within fifteen minutes of two cities. The things we felt most important in deciding to live in this area were the variety of families living nearby, and the quality of education in this district, which is recognized for its excellence. Despite living in a rural community, we are conveniently close to schools, shopping, and parks. In addition, we live close to three large lakes and recreation areas, with swimming, nature trails, and bike paths.
Our Thoughts

We have always looked forward to having a child in our lives for the simplest and best of reasons - to give that child those things most precious to them, as well as to us. Those things include Christian values full of endless opportunities for education as well as life's experiences. Those special moments can be at the zoo, or while reading, playing games, watching their dance or music recitals, rolling around on the floor finding their best tickle spot, or the first look on their face when they touch a frog. As they grow older, it may be going to a college game, traveling through Colorado, or walking a trail for the first time. These memories and experiences that we would love to share with a child would be as precious as the child itself.

We would love to meet you to find out more about you and answer any questions you may have about us. We are looking forward to communicating with you through the years if you wish. Whatever your choice, we wish the best of everything to you and your child.
