Hello! We are Cal, Jamey, and Kylie from O’Fallon, Missouri.  We are so pleased that you are taking time to read about our adoption dreams.  We greatly admire your consideration of open adoption.  The birth of our daughter showed us the beauty of open adoption and we firmly believe it is the most positive way for us to complete our family.  Being able to share the history of Kylie’s birthparents with her is very important to us.  We love telling her about her birth and adoption story and are looking forward to creating a new story for our next child!

About Us

We first met in college but didn’t start dating until we had both graduated.  We knew right away we were meant for each other.  After three years of dating, we were married on November 2, 2002.  We have a warm, happy home and feel this is essential for a loving family.  We cannot wait to raise our children through this example.

About Cal

Cal is admired for his honesty and loyalty, and these values make him an incredible father.  His eyes light up when he plays with Kylie and teaches her something new.  He enjoys sharing his interests with her, like training the family dog and playing sports.  Cal is looking forward to taking Kylie and our new baby on many fishing trips!

About Jamey

Jamey is a loving and caring wife and mother.  She is full of life and is passionate about her family.  She loves children and that is evident in her parenting. Every day Jamey enjoys reading, playing kitchen, singing and playing the piano with Kylie.  Being a mother is her greatest talent.  Jamey is very excited to welcome a new baby into our home!

About Kylie

Kylie came into our family through open adoption on the day she was born, September 5, 2006.  She is a very happy baby who smiles and laughs all the time.  Kylie is always learning and experiencing new things: singing, dancing, counting, blowing bubbles, and expanding her vocabulary.  She has even started saying how she wants to be a big sister.

Our Thoughts on Parenting

Love, honor, and respect are just a few of the values that we plan to teach our children.  We believe that these traits will help a child grow up with high self-esteem and an appreciation for family and friends.  We can already see how this has impacted our daughter as Kylie is a very happy, well-adjusted child.  We also plan to stress the significance of education and we will encourage our children to attend college right from the start.  Our   children will be raised Lutheran and we will continue to attend church and Sunday school on a regular basis.

Our Home and Neighborhood

We live in O’Fallon, Missouri, just outside of St. Louis.  We are close enough to the big city and all that it has to offer like the St. Louis Zoo, Science Center, and St. Louis Cardinal ball games.  There are also many places to visit in O’Fallon, particularly the nearby park and swimming pool just a mile from our house!  We live on a circle where Kylie enjoys playing with other children.  They are all excited to welcome a new friend to the group!

Our Hobbies

We enjoy traveling, family walks with the dog, cooking, attending sporting events, and entertaining friends and family, just to name a few.  Jamey has a strong musical background, including the piano, flute and singing.  She enjoys teaching Kylie nursery rhymes and introducing her to instruments.  Cal is an outdoorsman and cannot wait to share camping, fishing, and hunting with our children.  He’s already started practicing with Kylie and her fishing pole in the bath tub!  Cal also loves sports, particularly baseball and soccer.  He dreams of coaching teams for our children when they are older.  We are excited to introduce our child to the things we love and learn what their interests are too!

Our Family and Friends

We both come from close families and are very fortunate to have a large group of supportive friends.  Our friends and family are the most important things to us.  Our daughter was immediately loved and accepted by our families.  Kylie’s birthmother even met some of our family and friends at her birth.  She was able to witness the closeness of our family and see first-hand how much Kylie is loved.  Everyone is looking forward to welcoming another child into our family!
