Charles and Michela

Hello, we are Charles and Michela.  We have known each other for eleven years and were married September 15, 2007.  We knew for a long time that we were not able to have a baby and were interested in adoption before we were even married.  Our faith and love for each other has led us to this chapter in our lives.  We are so excited to experience this wonderful journey and truly believe now having a baby the natural way would not be as rewarding to us as this process.  We feel adoption will bring us a miracle and we can also help another person succeed in life.

About Us

We were both raised in large, Catholic families.  We were taught that faith and family is first and foremost.  With our experiences in life, we have found that this value can help you through any crisis life can bring you.  Charles has eight siblings and Michela has four siblings.  Between the both of us we have over forty nieces and nephews.  Charles works for a large telephone company as a communication technician.  He is a hard worker, a great husband, and a wonderful father.  He has two grown children that have started their own families.  We also have three grandchildren.  It is funny that we have grandkids already but not a child of our own.  Some may think that this is unusual, but we see it as more children to play together.

About Charles by Michela

Charles was married the first time when he was eighteen years old.  He had three children.  He then became a single parent raising his three children not long after the marriage ended.  Charles lost his middle son to bone cancer a few years later.  Charles will never forget his son, but he has learned through his incredible faith that life must go on even when life is not fair.  I have told Charles that he is the strongest man I have ever known, for there is no greater pain than losing a child to death.

About Michela by Charles

Michela is a Registered Nurse and has worked as a pediatric nurse for fourteen years.  She worked at Children’s Mercy hospital for ten years.  That is where we met when she took care of my son.  We stayed friends after Jon passed, had dinner about six months later, and our lives changed forever.  We feel Jon was an angel on earth that God sent here for many reasons.  Michela and I now know that one of the reasons was for us to become husband and wife.  Michela enjoys cooking and sewing.  She loves to entertain her family with a great home-cooked meal. Michela has worked with children for fourteen years and has helped raise some of her nieces and nephews.  I know she is ready to become a mom and will love a child with all her heart.

About Our Pets

We have three animals in our home.  There is Duke, a chocolate lab; Maggie, a golden retriever; and Zoey, a bichon frise.  They are all terribly spoiled.  They all love children and want to be with us all the time.  I think they feel they are little humans.  They love to run in our big backyard and to go for long trips in our car.

Our Home

We live in Shawnee, Kansas.  We have great neighbors and friends that live close by us.  Both our families also live close by, so we visit each other often.  We have a great public school system and parochial schools in our community.  We have totally remodeled our home ourselves, and we are very proud of the results.  It has three bedrooms.  One is empty right now and is ready for a nursery.  We have a large office, recreation room, a beautifully remodeled kitchen, and living room.  It is a great place to call home.

In Conclusion

We understand that a few words can not describe us.  We are not perfect, but we our good, hard-working, loving, family-oriented people. Having a baby would make our family complete in every way. We would be blessed and honored if you choose us to be your baby’s adoptive parents.

Thank you for taking the time to view our profile.  We look forward to meeting with you so we could learn more about each other.  Again, thank you and God bless.
