Chris and Cheryl

Thank you for taking time to consider us as a potential adoptive family for your baby. Hopefully our story can provide you with some comfort that we will be a compassionate and caring family for your baby.

We have been together for eleven years and married for eight.  We are best friends and truly love each other.  Our marriage is based on love, trust, mutual respect, and commitment to family.  We have a beautiful little girl who can't wait to be a big sister and a wonderful, large, loving, and supportive extended family.  Family is very important to us and we are very close to them and we visit often.  Our biggest accomplishments are our children.  We have chosen adoption because we have had complications with a prior pregnancy and the risks of these complications occurring again are too great for us to take.

Chris is 39 years old and is the oldest of five children.  He has one biological sister, two adopted Korean sisters and one adopted Caucasian brother.  Chris has worked in the city in a hospital for the past sixteen years where he supervises the personnel of a cardiovascular procedures area.  Cheryl is 40 years old and is the youngest of four children.  She has been a registered nurse for the past eighteen years in a hospital in the city specializing in cardiovascular research.

As a couple, we love to fish.  We have spent many hours trying to catch the big one, and we have caught a few.  We love the outdoors.  We enjoy going to rock concerts, listening to rock music, and playing guitar hero.  We spend some of our free time watching all kinds of movies, but especially comedy and scary movies.  We love watching sports, including college football, professional baseball, football and hockey. Chris played baseball and soccer and Cheryl played softball and basketball.

We built our own home with the help of Chris’ dad in 2003.  We live just outside the Kansas City area in the country on forty acres of land.  We really enjoy caring for the land and being in the country.  Yet we are close enough to the city to access all our needs.

Our Children

Tyler, our son, was born eight weeks premature. He was unable to overcome the complications of his early birth and he never made it home from the hospital.  We cherish the time we had with him and we miss him daily.

Ahlanna is three years old.  She enjoys swimming and visiting her grandparents, many aunts and uncles, and cousins.  She attends preschool where she has many friends and two wonderful teachers.  She will be a wonderful big sister.  Mom and Dad love watching her grow.  Together we spend many hours playing Barbie’s, learning how to fish, playing t-ball and just exploring the outdoors.  We enjoy family vacations, trips to ballgames and spending time together at home.

Our Pets

Ginger, the golden retriever, and Roscoe, the lab/mix, are our dogs.  They are very friendly and love swimming and exploring our land.  Toonces is our Siamese cat.  He rules the house and loves to lie on your lap and receive many hours of petting.  Scratchy and Spookers are cat brother and sister.  They are very friendly and loving and love being outside. Our pets are very kid friendly.  They enjoy being petted and loved.

In Closing

We have been through a situation that required an extremely difficult decision.  From this experience, we know that only you can truly understand how you feel during this time.  However, we do know that your love for your baby is unconditional and we have sincere respect and admiration for your ability to make such a difficult decision.

We promise you that we will provide a safe home filled with love, fun, and happiness for your baby.  We look forward to meeting with you and exploring what our future relationship can be.

Sincerely,
Chris, Cheryl and Ahlanna
