Chris and Christy

Why We Want to Adopt

As I glance across the room, my husband Chris is playing affectionately with his baby niece. I know there is a void in his life because he's never had a child of his own. Granted he was a big brother to a troubled teenage youth for several years, but he still yearns with his heart and soul to have his own baby. When Chris and I were married, I brought three sons into the union with me. Although I was blessed to have children, I would also embrace the opportunity to raise another child with the man I love.

About Christy

My name is Christy. I am 42 years old, and for the last five years I have taught physical education K-4 at an elementary school in Missouri. Prior to that, I taught Health and Fitness at the 9th grade center for five years. I am also certified to teach health, counseling and drivers education. I have the best job in the world because I get paid to play with kids every day. In my free time, I enjoy working out, reading, swimming and taking long walks.

About Chris

My husband, Chris is 36 years old. He is an electrician for his own company and is currently becoming certified to be an electrical engineer. He is good with his hands and has built several houses in the past. There's nothing in our house that he can't fix. Chris also likes to play basketball with friends he's had for years.

About Christy's Sons

We have one son, Chase, who still lives at home. He is 14 and is in the 8th grade. He is very athletic. This year he has participated in wrestling and skate boarding. He also displays remarkable artistic talent. He loves playing games with his friends and makes good grades. Our other two sons, Geoff and Robert, live independently. Geoffrey, 25, chose to make a career in the Navy and is married. They are stationed in California. Robert is 23, lives in his own home, has a full time job, and is also married.

Tried to Get Pregnant

After numerous fertility treatments, it has become obvious that we will not be able to conceive a child on our own. Although this was a disappointment for us, we look forward to adding to our family through adoption.

Christy Getting Pregnant at Sixteen

When I became pregnant with my first child at the age of sixteen, I agonized about the choices to be made. I was not aware of the adoption procedure then, so with the supportive help of my parents I decided to raise my son on my own. It was a difficult time. I can only imagine what you may be feeling. I would love to offer you some of the same support I was given and assist you throughout your pregnancy. We will be there to help you as you need us. Your health and happiness are important to us.

Why You Should Think About Choosing Us

If you decide to choose us, we will devote our lives to caring for your child. I am off in the summers and on all holidays. Chris's job enables him to design his own schedule so that he would be available for any of the child's needs. Our parents have also eagerly committed to provide child care while we are at work. My father is retired from the grocery business, and my mother is a retired music teacher who currently writes books for other music teachers.

Chris and I are both comfortable with "Open Adoption." We would be happy to send you pictures of the child on a regular basis and let you know the child's progress. Should you have any other requests, we would be glad to discuss them with you.

I believe that being more mature parents offers a host of advantages. We have established careers creating stability within our household; we own a nice home in a kid-friendly area. We have developed good parenting skills and have an abundance of patience and love we are eager to shower upon a new child. Please consider us as potential parents for your child.
