Hello!  We are Doug, Jamie, and Chloe.  We met in 2001 and were happily married in 2004.  After being married for about a year, we decided to try and start a family.  To make a long story short, things did not go exactly according to plan, and we made the decision together not to undergo fertility treatments.  We have known since we met each other that we would like to have children.   Adoption has finally made our dreams of becoming parents a reality.  We were able to adopt our daughter in 2007.  We love our daughter very much, but don’t feel that our family is yet complete.  We want very much for her to have a sibling.

About Us

Both of us are very family oriented and love spending time with our daughter, and other extended family members.  There are lots of grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, and cousins to play with.  Almost all of our siblings and parents are within a ten to fifteen minute drive, and all of Jamie’s siblings live in the same town; so we are in close contact with all of them.  One of Jamie’s brothers is also our next door neighbor.

Doug works as a manager for a large telephone company and Jamie teaches preschool at a small district close to home.  In our free time we enjoy doing projects around our house, doing yard work, spending time with our friends and their children, and playing with our dog Bruce.  We also love to go camping, and travel to see family who live up north in Wisconsin.  Since Jamie has summers off, her favorite thing to do is play outside with Chloe and Bruce.

Our Children

Our daughter Chloe joined our family through an open adoption in 2007.  She is a very energetic, happy toddler who can’t wait to have a brother or sister! 

Our Pets

We have one dog, Bruce.  He is a Golden Retriever mix, who is absolutely spoiled! He loves people and to socialize.  He loves to go on long walks, and say hello to everyone on the way. 

Our Home

We live in a small town in Missouri where Jamie grew up as a child, with a population of about 2,500.  We were fortunate enough to build our house four years ago, with children definitely in mind.  It is a two-story house with lots of living space.  We live on two acres and absolutely love living in the country.  We often invite our friends and family over just to hang out and have bon-fires and roast marshmallows.  We have a big yard with a swing set and maybe someday, a swimming pool.  We are not embarrassed to admit that we love staying at home!

In Conclusion

We know that you are also going through an incredible time in your life.  You are going to bring a new life into this world.  But we also understand that you have some very tough decisions to make as well.  We want you to know that we will respect any decision you make, and will not try and persuade you in any way.  You will make the best decision that is right for you and your baby.  If you entrust us with that awesome experience, we will be the best parents that we possibly can.  Your miracle will also be ours.

We hope we have given you a little glimpse of who we are.  We absolutely love children and want to be parents to that special child.  We believe that raising a child is one of the best gifts that anyone can receive.  We hope that we can all work together to make this the most wonderful and rewarding experience for everyone involved.  We are looking forward to openly sharing this incredible journey with you.  We are open to all types of communication.   Whether that is getting to know you during your pregnancy, getting together over the years or through emails, exchanging pictures and letters; whatever your comfort level may be.
