George and Katrina

Dear Birthparents:

We are Katrina (Katie) and George. We would like to start by saying thank you for viewing our profile. We know that what you are doing is totally selfless and cannot imagine how difficult this decision has been for you.

We have known each other the greater part of our lives, having attended the same grade school and church all through our adolescent years. Many years after grade school our paths crossed and we started dating in 2001. As our relationship grew we knew we wanted to spend our lives together and married in 2004. We have a very strong marriage, are devoted to one another, make a great team, and love each other more every day. We knew that we wanted children from the beginning of our marriage, but we didn't start trying until 2008. After three unsuccessful years of fertility treatments and lots of prayers, we knew that we would grow our family through adoption.

Getting to know us…

We live in Liberty, Missouri in a home that we built. We have two dogs, a lab mix, Sadie, and a miniature dachshund, Augie, who are very much a part of our family. Both of our dogs love being around children. Our hobbies include spending time with family and friends, traveling, working in the yard, hanging out at our family lake house, watching movies and exercising.

Katie is 28 and has worked as a project administrator for a local general contractor for eight years. Katie loves her job and her work family. Her hobbies include shopping, cooking, reading, sewing, and playing games.

George is 31 and has worked as a truck driver for Katie’s family’s trucking company for the last four years. George’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, barbequing and watching Husker football.

Our family…

We both have very large happy families who are very supportive of our decision to adopt. They can't wait to welcome a new member to the family. Katie knows firsthand that families are made all different ways as she comes from a blended family. She has her Mom, Lisa, and Dad, Jeff, as well as her biological Father, Forrest, and Stepmom, Susie, with a younger half-brother and half-sister and lots of grandparents. George is one of seven children with three brothers and three sisters. George is the youngest boy and the fifth child in his family. We have 12 nieces and nephews whom we love and adore. We spend lots of time with family celebrating birthdays and holidays and helping each other with projects.

We plan on raising our children in the family atmosphere in which we have grown up. Our faith in God is a huge part of our lives and will be a part of our children's lives, too. We believe that family traditions are very important for children - carving pumpkins, decorating at Christmas and spending time with family and friends during the holidays. We will show our children abundant love and respect. We will instill morals and values, provide a stable loving environment, and teach them life skills to become thriving adults.

Again we would like to thank you for taking the time to view our profile and hope that you will consider us as adoptive parents. We are looking forward to parenthood and raising a family. Choosing us to parent your child is the greatest blessing we could ever receive.

Thank you,
Katie & George
