About Us

Our relationship started in 1998 when we started dating and we have been together ever since. Our love grew quickly into a great love that is still strong today. We have based our relationship on love, respect, and the motto of “What can I do to make you happy today.”

We were married on June 12, 2004. Soon after, we decided we wanted to start a family. Our daughter Alyssa was born September 13, 2005. She has brought a love and joy to our lives that we never thought possible. She is a smart and fun three year old.

When we decided to have another baby, we assumed that it would work the same way as when we decided to have Alyssa, but that was not the case. After two years of trying, we discovered that having another biological child was not going to be possible. A two-child family is what we have always wanted, and while not having our own child was initially disappointing, we felt this did not have to be the end of our dreams to have another child. We knew about adoption because Jamie’s younger sister, Faith, was adopted. We investigated adoption and we felt excited that we would be able to expand our family.

Greg

I am 33 years old, born in sunny California, and have lived in beautiful Kansas since I was twelve years old. I have played soccer since I was four years old; I played in high school and college, and still do now in an adult league. I have an older sister and a younger brother. Meeting Jamie was one of the best things that ever happened to me. We fell in love soon after, with a wedding that was as fun as it was magical. When Alyssa was born I thought it couldn’t get any better than this. I was so proud, happy and in love - I will never forget that moment. I have been a carpenter for about twelve years now and a lot of interesting projects have come my way through the years. I love working with my hands and know I can do just about anything when I put my mind to it. I have a great family- they have really taken to being grandparents and uncles and aunties very well. I love hanging out with Alyssa and Jamie playing games, singing, and dancing. We do wish for a sibling for Alyssa as Jamie and I both know how important it was for us in our upbringing. We are a fun and loving family and I love being a dad in the midst of this wonderful home.

Jamie

I am 26 years old and was born in Oklahoma. I have lived in Kansas since I was eight. I enjoy going to the spa, reading books, exercising, and baking chocolate chip cookies with Alyssa. I was a very good student and cheerleader in high school. While I was in college, I was active in a sorority before marrying the love of my life, Greg. I received my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, started working with a local insurance company in 2006 and truly enjoy my job. I have earned the flexibility in my job to be able to work from home for a day or two when needed or leave anytime to take Alyssa to an appointment. I have three older stepbrothers, one older sister, and one younger sister. I put my family first above all others and I am a good friend. As a parent, I am highly involved in my child’s schooling but also believe that playing is a good way of learning. I truly love being a mother and a wife. I believe in eating dinner as a family every night and that open communication is the best policy.

Alyssa

Alyssa is a sweet little girl who can’t wait for “her baby” to come home to us. She is a nurturer and pretends to take care of her babies all the time. She attends preschool during the week and gymnastics on Saturday. She is a “busy-bee” with lots of friends and hobbies to keep her busy. She loves art projects, reading books, and being outside riding her bike or swinging on her swing set. She also likes to bake cookies with her mommy and flip pancakes with her daddy.

Hobbies

We characterize our family as fun loving. We are always playing and joking around. We love to attend shows like Disney on Ice and Elmo. We go to the park, visit the zoo, and sing and dance around the house. We also do some traveling around to visit our families. But most of the time we just step outside and play with the tons of children that are on our street.

Home

We live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, full basement home. This last summer we added a deck and swing set to our fenced backyard to make it a great place for our children to play. We live within walking distance to an elementary school and we are close to many parks. We have one dog named Rodney and he is very playful and good with kids. We have one cat named Abby who is the normal lazy cat
