Rod and Kate
Dear Birth Parents,
We can only imagine how you might feel at this time…and we certainly have not walked in your shoes. We really admire your strength, your courage and for thoughtfully considering what is the best for your unborn child. We pray that you find comfort and peace in the decisions ahead of you and that you have the strong support of close family and friends. It is with humility that we invite you to learn more about our lives, backgrounds and what is important to us. |

We are Rod and Kate, a fun-loving, energetic, professional couple who has been married for ten years. We have a five year old son whom we adore and who brings us so much joy. Three years ago we sold our home in the suburbs and bought acreage outside the city to enhance our quality of life and so we could provide the best childhood possible for our children. By moving to the country we have a wonderful quality of life but also are close enough to the city to have quick access to all the educational and cultural opportunities and medical facilities available. We are both dedicated to providing our children with the love, security, nurturing, education and fun that they need to grow and thrive. |
We love animals and have a dog, Tucker, who is two year old yellow lab. He loves to run and play with our family and is happy-go-lucky. We have two cats, Cheerio and Biscuit, both of whom were abandoned and in need of a loving home and who are very sweet and kind. We have two horses, Chance and Zip, so that Kate and Evan can ride together and Evan can grow up with a sense of responsibility. |

We have a wonderful marriage and absolutely love being parents. We truly enjoy spending time together as a family and Evan often asks for a baby brother or sister. Pregnancy was extremely difficult for Kate with many complications and pregnancy losses so we have decided to expand our family through adoption. We know the depth of love that a parent feels for their child and for us this is independent of biology. |
Rod is a 44 yr. old fantastic father and husband. He is smart, funny, patient, kind and loyal. He absolutely has his priorities straight in life and puts family before everything else. He is an active and engaged team-player and includes Evan in all his activities. Rod doesn’t mind that it might take longer to accomplish a task with a small child along… he simply enjoys every minute of fatherhood. |

Kate is a 38 yr. old dedicated and driven mother, friend and wife. She is centered in her principles and has a clear and keen sense for doing the right thing even when it might be the more difficult path to take. Kate is one of those special people that was without a doubt put here on earth to make the lives of people and animals better. She is an incredibly hard-worker and is centered, kind, consistent, and thoughtful. She is a wonderful listener and gives the best advice in all situations, personal and professional. She will always stop and help others in need. Kate loves to cook and entertain and make holidays and birthdays special events in our home! |
Evan is an enthusiastic, social and loving child who enjoys people and learning. He shrieks with joy to garden or go fishing and loves to ride his special horse Zip. He enjoys family trips to Disney, parties at our home with friends, and our weekly Friday night family outings for dinner and groceries. He is a true blessing to all that know him. We love watching him grow, experience the world and develop his own ideas and interests. |

We love each other and our life and want to expand our family to share our love and experiences with another child. We both have siblings and strong, stable, loving extended families and we understand the importance of and value of these relationships. Kate has two younger sisters and her parents have been married for over 40 years. Rod has two older sisters and a brother. His parents were married for almost 50 years. Both families travel many times a year to visit and get together for most holidays. |
We often travel to New England for the Christmas holiday with family and friends and to play in the snow. We also spend time each summer at the family lake house as we all enjoy the water and nature. We love to travel and experience new places as a family and feel that it is our responsibility to share the diversity and wonders of the world with our children.

We are both veterinarians and value education. After Evan’s birth, Kate reduced her work schedule to three days per week to allow for four consecutive days at home with him. Rod has flexibility in his schedule, ample vacation time and never misses a parent day, activity or pre-school performance. We are the first parents to arrive before school programs so we can take pictures and sit in the front row!

Thank you for your interest in our family. We understand that you have many things to consider for you and your child. We just want you to know that in our family your child will be safe, loved and nurtured and we will share their adoption story with them often. We'd love to talk with you about your dreams for your child and will respect the level of openness and contact with which you are comfortable. We wish you strength and wisdom as you make your decisions and look forward to meeting you.
