We are Ben, Mandy, and Ethan
We want you to know how grateful we are for you and the sacrifices you are making in your life by deciding to bring a child into this world. We know that this is a loving, selfless choice that you are making. Even though we have not met you yet, we want you to know that we have been praying for you and your baby as you prepare your adoption plan. We are committed to offering your child a life of unconditional love and constant nurturing. You are giving us the greatest blessing we could ever hope to receive! Words cannot tell you what it will mean, not only to our lives, but also to our extended families. You are giving us the opportunity to provide your baby with a life full of love, adventure, education and support that will not only come from us, but also from our loving family and friends.
We met when we were in high school while on a mission trip in Mexico and in 2005 we were married. We feel so blessed to have found the love of our lives so early in life and able to experience life's adventures with each other. We have always known that we would need help starting a family. Mandy knew from a very young age that she could not carry a child. Both of us have siblings who are adopted so it wasn't a hard decision to choose adoption as our way of having a family.
In 2012 our greatest dream came true and we became parents! We adopted our son Ethan through open adoption and we are loving this new adventure of being parents. We would love to expand our family and make Ethan a big brother!
About Mandy (written by Ben)
Mandy is my best friend and the love of my life. She is an amazing mother and wife! She has a special way with kids... they all adore her - especially Ethan! Mandy has a caring heart and it amazes me how much love she has in her heart and how much she still has to give.
I am 28 years old. I grew up on a farm in western Kansas in a loving Christian home. I am the oldest of six siblings, three of which are adopted. I am very close to my family and we try to see them as often as we can. They are very excited and cannot wait for the new addition to our family!
Up until Ethan was born, I worked at KU medical center in Kansas City as a CNA. I am now a stay at home mommy and feel very fortunate that I can be home to raise our kids. Some things I like to do are: reading, traveling, antiquing, and refinishing furniture.
About Ben (written by Mandy)
Ben is the most amazing man I have ever met! He has a big heart and an even bigger sense of humor. He is so patient and laid back and everyone who meets him just feels at ease around him. Ben is my best friend and my comfort. When I am having a bad day or need some help with Ethan, he is always there to pitch in and help and always stays cool and calm when life is crazy and hectic. He is also an amazing father, and Ethan adores him! Whether it's napping together in the recliner or taking the time to read Ethan a book before he leaves for work in the morning, Ben always takes the time to do something special with Ethan.
I am 29 years old. I was born and raised in Kansas. I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor’s degree in radiology in 2008. I currently work as a clinical informaticist in Radiology. I have one older sister who was adopted and two nephews and one niece. I enjoy playing the drums at church and traveling. In my spare time I like to swim, and watch movies and KU basketball.
Ethan is 2 1/2 years old and is ALL BOY! He is very adventurous and enjoys being outside playing in the dirt and collecting rocks. He brightens all of our lives and makes us laugh everyday! He has taught us to see the world differently and to take time to smell the flowers (which we do a lot when we go for walks). Ethan can't wait to get "a baby" as he says it. He will make a great big brother and I'm sure he will love to take on the duty of teaching his younger sibling all his mischievous ways!
We still keep in contact with Ethan's birth mom through email and facebook, since she lives out of state. She was at his dedication at church and we have had a couple of visits with her and his maternal grandma. We also have pictures of his birth mom in his baby book. We will always be honest with our children about where they came from.
We love going for walks, visiting zoos and museums. We also get together with friends and family to have movie or game nights. We love to travel and try to take a trip every year. We are so excited to take our kids to national parks and see our beautiful country but also to have them see and experience cultures all over the world!
We were both raised in strong Christian families and our faith is central to who we are and how we live our lives. Our faith and family is first in our lives. We view adoption as a very special and unique relationship between two families. We believe it’s important for our children to know where they came from and the loving decision you made for them. We are willing to be as open in this adoption as you feel comfortable with.
In closing, we want to thank you again for taking the time to look at our profile. Whether you choose us or not, we want you to know that we admire your courage and strength! Your selflessness and love for your baby will be a blessing for all involved. We look forward to meeting you and getting started on this lifelong friendship!
