Hey! We are Brendan and Kellie.
We are so excited to be parents and want to thank you for reading our profile!

Our Story

We both were born in Kansas City (actually our birthdays are only 1 day apart!). We grew up 15 minutes apart but didn't meet each other until after college. Then, one fateful night in 2009, we met for the first time in St. Louis. We both knew this relationship was different and immediately fell for each other. After 2 years of dating, Brendan proposed, and we were married on November 17, 2012. (Kellie's Birthday!)

We moved to Southern California for a couple of years. We then moved back to Kansas City in 2013 and bought a cute, little house in the city. Our families are both in Kansas City and we are fortunate to have such a caring, loving network of family and friends. We are very involved in our church where we volunteer, and attend small group.

We have always had the heart for adoption, and after many months of infertility issues, we decided to follow our hearts and go down the path of adoption. We feel that God has a bigger plan in store for us and cannot wait to have a family of our own.

Brendan’s Story

The oldest of 4 kids, Brendan has a brother and two sisters. He got his undergraduate degree while working as a manager for the men's basketball team at the University of Kansas. He then got his master’s degree in Sport Management from Illinois State University working as a college basketball coach. Brendan now runs a software company that uses Virtual Reality to help professional athletes train. He loves being active and the outdoors, trying new things, traveling, and eating tons of sushi and Indian food. He plays music two times a month in the church band (guitar and piano). He has wanted to adopt ever since he spent a summer working at an orphanage in Africa while in college.

Kellie’s Story

Kellie is the middle child with an older brother and younger brother. She graduated from Missouri State University with her special education teaching degree. She played collegiate soccer at Nebraska and Missouri State. She taught at the high school level for 4 years in special education. Kellie now works as a dog trainer at a local animal rescue and shelter where she makes dogs more adoptable and helps them be successful in their forever homes. She loves spending time with her dogs, taking naps, and eating lots of pizza. Kellie is also in her 7th year of coaching high school girl’s soccer. Kellie has always had a heart for adoption and can hardly wait to be a mom!

Our Families and Friends

We are both very lucky to grow up in loving and nurturing families. Both of our families live in the Kansas City area and we are close to both our siblings and parents. We routinely get together with both sides of the family whether for an impromptu bar-b-q or a holiday gathering.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. Our “village” consists of lifelong family friends as well as friends we’ve made through our church. This extended family has been and continues to be role models when it comes to marriage, relationships, and raising a family. They are all so excited to encourage, support, and help us raise our child. This will be the first grandchild for both Kellie and Brendan’s immediate family…so this child is going to be spoiled!

Our Life

We’ve been through a lot in our 4 years of marriage. Long distance relationship, living in California, adopting dogs, buying a house, changing careers, managing a start-up company, infertility issues and all the other ups and downs of life. Through all of this a steady rock in our life has been our faith in Jesus and God. We’ve been so blessed with such a nurturing support system, and these friends/family through our church have been a guiding light. This coming November we will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary, 30th birthdays and (fingers crossed!) adding a new member to our family.

Thank You!

We want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about us! We are very lucky that you are considering us as parents!
