We’re on a big adventure!
Hi! Thanks for taking a minute to read a little about us. Our names are Jimmy and Aaron and we, along with our daughter Sierra, can’t wait to continue on our big adventure as a family. We are so excited to meet you! This is a big step for you to even consider making an adoption plan. Know that we are wishing you all the best as you find the right family. If it’s us, we can’t wait to meet you and hope this brief introduction will help you as you make your next few steps.
About Aaron
Aaron is from northwest Indiana. His family is still there and they are really wonderful people. Aaron worked as a teacher for 11 years and adores kids. He loves the outdoors: gardening, landscaping, hiking, biking, and especially being near the water. He’s the pet lover between us, the one who loves decorating the house at holidays, and never says no to going out dancing.
About Jimmy
Jimmy is originally from Florida but has lived in places all over the USA and even places all over the world! Jimmy is the pop culture junkie in the family: TV, movies, books, and theater are his favorite topics. He’s the cook in the family and tries never to make the same thing twice… except for Aaron’s favorites. Jimmy is the social butterfly of the family and loves to entertain.
About Sierra
Sierra joined our family in September of 2020. We were able to forge a wonderful relationship with a birth mom out in California and currently have an open adoption with her. We have a shared photo site where we can keep her up to date on Sierra’s progress and have a standing check-in on Sundays just so we can stay in touch! Sierra is such a joy to us. She is curious, adventurous, a great little sleeper, and loves music (dancing with Papa and playing the piano with Dad).
About Hank
Hank is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees we recently rescued from a local organization. He was found on the side of the road in Arkansas and quickly captured our hearts! He is great with Sierra - she giggles when his whiskers tickle her face, and Hank scopes out the floor for any food she drops during meals! He can’t wait for another kiddo partner-in-crime.
Why Are We Doing This?
Before we even started dating, we talked about building a family. We both knew that if the other didn’t also want that, a relationship wasn’t worth pursuing. Our relationship was built long distance (Aaron was in Chicago, Jimmy lived in Kansas City) and daily texts turned into phone calls turned into a first meeting six months after we met (we rode roller coasters and got introduced to what’s become our favorite cocktail “The Ricochet”). When we bought our house, it was imperative that it have room for our future family. We found a spot next to a local school that has a whole bunch of different kinds of families from all walks of life. We’re so lucky to have so many friends who also are having babies right now, our children will have such a great community to grow up with. But deeper than that, more than anything in the world, we love being dads. We believe that our home is supposed to be filled with life. We want our dinner table full, our rooms filled with laughter, and the walls covered with pictures of memories and adventures.
Where We Go from Here
We are so proud of you and can’t wait to meet you. What an incredible journey you’re on. We know that this is a huge decision to make and if we’re the right family for your baby, we can’t wait to meet you! Our greatest hope is to be a home for children that need it. Our hope is that you would be able to stay connected throughout the process and beyond. Our philosophy is: the more people who love this child, the better. Best wishes to you as you continue this process. Hope we can chat more soon!
