Hello, we are AJ and Jami!
We would first like to thank you for reading our profile. We want to express our respect for you as we know you are facing a difficult decision. We cannot imagine what you are feeling, but want to thank you for considering us to be the parents for your child. We have so much love to give and want nothing more than to grow our family through open adoption.
We met in high school when AJ’s family moved to our small town from Arkansas. We became friends instantly. Jami even went home the first day of school and told her parents all about the new boy with the southern accent. All of our friends teased that we were more than friends, and we soon discovered they were right. When we decided to attend the same college, we started dating. We did everything together, and AJ could always be found supporting Jami at her college softball games where she was the pitcher. While still in college AJ proposed, and we were married on 07/07/07. We recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary, and our love and devotion to each other grows daily. The greatest joy in our life is our son, Drew. He was born in 2011 and is such a blessing to us. After Drew was born we knew we wanted to expand our family but we have been faced with 4 consecutive miscarriages. We were devastated by these losses, but we are now hopeful and excited about growing our family through open adoption.
AJ is 34 years old, he was born in western New York and is an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He has worked in the fire protection industry for 11 years. He has an incredible work ethic and is very good at his job, but always makes sure to prioritize our family over work.
Jami is 33 years old, she was raised on a farm with her two little sisters who are her best friends. She is a high school physical education teacher and has her master’s degree in athletic administration.
Drew is 6 years old and will be entering Kindergarten in the fall. Drew is a very caring and sweet boy. He loves to learn and can tell you all about the solar system. He has endless energy and loves to play outside. His favorite thing to do is ride his power wheels up and down our cul-de-sac with the neighborhood kids. He loves to play soccer, baseball, and basketball. Right now he says he wants to be a teacher like his mommy when he grows up. He wants nothing more than to be a big brother and talks about it frequently. He keeps us entertained constantly with his silliness and he takes after his dad with his ability to make everyone laugh.
We both come from very close knit families. AJ has 4 brothers and 1 sister. His siblings are spread out but we try to get together as much as we can. Jami’s parents and siblings are all local. We love to get together and have family dinners every Sunday after church. We are very blessed to be able to spend so much time with our family. We are all KC Royals fans and love going to Kaufman stadium together. Our family has several traditions that we like to do especially around Christmas. We always have a big sugar cooking decorating night that we finish off with watching “The Grinch.” We also always spend Christmas day in pajamas. We love sharing our family traditions with Drew and can’t wait to continue these with a new baby.
