Hi! We're Jamie, John, Sam & Jack!
We appreciate you taking the time to learn a little more about us. Our little family has been created through adoption, and it holds a very special place in our hearts. We look forward to adding to our family and creating a lifelong connection.
Our relationship began in a rather unconventional way; at ages 24 and 27, we met grocery shopping! After less than a year of long-distance dating (Missouri and Utah), we were married March 24, 2006. March 2019 will mark 13 happy years together. Some of our favorite things to do together as a couple, and now as a family, include traveling, enjoying the outdoors, and taking in Kansas City's attractions, i.e. Royals games, Worlds of Fun, and downtown.
JOHN (told by Jamie)
I was first attracted to John's confidence and sense of humor. John has the ability to bring life and energy and laughter into any situation, and our home is full of happiness because of him. He adores his children, and spends much of his free time playing with his sons. They love to wrestle and play rough, and both Sam and Jack are always looking for a reason to sneak up to John's office during the work day to see their Daddy. John is a warm and patient father, and a loving spouse and provider. His work ethic has blessed our family so that I am able to stay home and raise our children. Marrying John was the best decision I ever made. The life we have made together, while not without its ups and downs, has been beautiful and fulfilling. We plan to grow old and gray together.
JAMIE (told by John)
Jamie is the love of my life. She is the most wonderful woman that I've met. We fit together so well and she is a great partner for me. The very first thing that attracted me to Jamie was her confidence. She is smart, funny, honest, assertive, and motivated. I love how she follows through with her goals, although sometimes it makes me feel inadequate. :)
Jamie is a warm and compassionate mother who always puts her children first. She will often take a break from her daily responsibilities to spend special time with each of our sons. Whether it is playing dinosaurs with Sam or reading books to Jack, it is very touching to watch. She is very loving and patient as a mother and the boys can feel her love for them. I happily look forward to spending my life with her and all of our children.
Sam entered our home at just six days old, and filled our lives with joy as we were blessed to care for him and watch him grow. We spent an anxious year with a prayer in our hearts that he might someday be ours. Much to our delight he was adopted on his 1st birthday, August 13, 2015. Sam is a big ham, and just like his daddy, enjoys making people laugh. He loves all things Jurassic Park, Ninjago, and Monster Trucks. He is very much an active four-year-old, but still enjoys quiet moments snuggling in our laps and reading together. He is a natural big brother and is quick to protect and comfort Jack.
Jack is our Facebook baby :) We had been hoping and praying for an addition to our family for quite some time, and were notified of a birth mother looking for a family through a Facebook post. Jack is also a big ham, and loves to follow his big brother around. Tubby time and stealing people's snacks are favorite pastimes. He especially enjoys tomato soup and fruit snacks, and usually insists on carrying around his stuffed penguin. He's at a fun age where everything is new, and he is quick to laugh, snuggle, and get into mischief.
We both come from very large families, and between us have 11 siblings and 30 nieces and nephews. The majority of our extended family live in the Kansas City area, and Sundays and Holidays are almost always spent with this huge group. Our time together is full of laughter and noise, and we find joy surrounding ourselves with our loved ones.
We try to make our home a happy place, and our children our first priority. We hope for a large family someday, and can promise a home full of love and laughter and life. We are also eager to develop and maintain a life-long connection between our children and their birth families. We understand how important that bond can be, and we promise to foster that connection. We look forward to beginning this journey together.
